Cookham Scouting Centenary Hike

Download cookham_scouting_centenary_hike_v2.pdf

As part of our Celebration of 100 years of Scouting, Scout Leader Andrew Sutherland has created a hike route around Cookham visiting sites connected to the foundation of the Movement.  On this hike you can visit places where our Founder, Robert Baden Powell, could have drowned before Scouting began, where Baden Powell's sister's former boyfriend changed history up a tree, where three of the writers that inspired Baden Powell stayed, where Wide Games entered the Scouting programme, where the man that triggered the War that made Baden Powell a hero stayed, and a memorial in a Cookham Church that links Baden Powell, Butch Cassidy and Sherlock Holmes.

The link above should (may!) let you download the document.  Otherwise, it is available as a pdf file by e-mailing Andrew Sutherland on asutherland19@tiscali.co.uk
